Kerala Project

IDEA started a project in Kerala state in the year 2018  to support to children from flood affected areas in Alappuzha district. The project was started as an immediate relief to children and parents who have suffered great loss due to the unexpected flooding. The schools needed renovation and there was a great loss of study materials. We have provided furniture, science / computer lab equipment  and equipped the schools with library facilities. We also provided school materials and bags to children to continue their education.

We have decided to continue the project in Kuttanadu area as this areas is affected by flood every year during monsoon season . With the COVID 19 outbreak , there are many more families affected severely in this area due to subsequent lock down.

During FY 2020-21, with the help of Donations from Global Giving and Give India platforms, we have supported the education of 103 children from Govt High School , Kuppappuram and SNDP High School,  Kuttamangalam by providing sponsorship and study materials. We are also providing financial support to flood / Covid affected families  ( CASH transfer to their bank account ) in 6 locations in Kuttanadu .

In FY 2021-22 ( Till July 2021) we have also provided smart phones to a few children in two schools to continue education through online platforms and around 100 children are in the sponsorship program . We are also continuing financial support to flood / Covid affected families in Kuttanadu   area.
