“Inclusive Education for Socially Disadvantaged People- India Country Project” which was being funded by German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) &Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation (SPUF) is completed in December 2015. This 3 year project was a part of “Inclusive Education in Action: Worldwide Experiences” implemented in 5 developing countries. IDEA was the implementing partner of this project in India.
IDEA implemented this project in 25 schools and surrounding villages in Bhor Block.We have supported the education of the children through school and community interventions and provided vocational training for women and youth for getting them employed. Teachers, parents and community members were also involved in this work. IDEA was closely connected with other Indian civil society institutions and responsible government agencies for the successful implementation of the objectives, mainly to contribute to the fundamental right of education, in particular to the ‘education for all ‘ initiative of UNESCO.
